HEAD COACH BROOKE AUSTIN
Lion Line Dance Team Head Coach
Brooke Austin is in her third full year as head coach of the Lion Line dance team, having been named to the position in February of 2012. She brings 21 years of dancing experience and 13 years of teaching and choreography experience to the position and led the program to its fifth national title at the 2013 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Championships.
Prior to becoming a collegiate coach, Austin attended Lindenwood University and participated on the dance team for four years. She was also named a captain and helped with choreography. While at the university, Lion Line won its first Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Championship in 2008 and then won again in 2009 in the Open Hip Hop division.
From 2009-2014, Austin was the head coach of the Francis Howell High School Varsity Golden Girls dance team. Her responsibilities include overall direction, teaching and choreography. The Golden Girls were ranked first in the state of Missouri and second nationally in 2011 and 2012.
Austin trained at Dance Connection for 13 years, where she taught as a master teacher and choreographer for over a decade. She has worked with renowned choreographers and teachers from coast to coast. She also participated as a dancer, choreographer, and captain in the Collaboration Dance Company from 2008 to 2010. Her dancing and choreography have been positively recognized at various competitions across the country as she choreographs for multiple universities, high schools, and studios.
Austin graduated from Lindenwood University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2009. She currently resides in O’Fallon, Mo. with her husband Terrance, and daughter Tinleigh.
